Traders Information

Christmas in Limerick is a city-wide council initiative to animate city centre spaces over the festive season. Milestone Inventive have been appointed to set up and animate two separate areas in which there are opportunities for hot food, snack and retail, amongst a wider programme of events.

Bedford Row

Located in the heart of the city centre’s shopping district, we will be creating a Christmas Market on Bedford Row (a pedestrian street either side of O’Connell Street).  A mix of artisan retail and snack food items along with small scale amusements will be located along this prime stretch of shopping street. Mobile stages will also be programmed at key peak hours to further enhance the festive atmosphere.

The market will be open 7 days a week from November 25th – December 22nd. Opening hours are Mon – Wed: 12noon – 8pm and Thur – Sun: 10am – 8pm.  Quality and decor are hugely important to our success and all traders will be required to use the Christmas wooden chalets to ensure that the look and feel is a high calibre.

Arthurs’ Quay

Just a stone’s throw from the city centre, Arthurs’ Quay has been used for the increasingly popular Riverfest and other Limerick events throughout the year.  it is a proven successful event space.  The leafy park on the banks of the river will be transformed into a Christmas Village containing an ice rink, vintage amusements, a big wheel, mulled wine bar and traditional Bier Keller. There are opportunities in this location for a mix of retail, snack and hot food (including own units for catering purposes, where they are necessary for cooking and add visually to the decor of the event).

The market in Arthurs’ Quay will be open from November 25th – December 22nd. (amusements and ice rink continuing into the New Year) Opening hours Thur – Sun: 10am – 10pm.

Given the short turn around time in this opening year, bookings will be taken on a first come, first serve basis and as in Galway, we will endeavour to offer first refusal to those who have traded with us previously in subsequent years. This is a chance to get in on the ground floor of opportunity that we hope will grow from strength to strength in years to come.
